On September 10, 2026, ONLYhealing Wellness marked World Suicide Prevention Day through an awareness walk dedicated to raising awareness, spreading hope, and encouraging conversations about suicide prevention.
This year marked the final year of the World Suicide Prevention Day theme, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide,” which calls on individuals and communities to move away from silence and stigma towards openness, understanding, and support. With the call to action “Start the Conversation,” the day reminds us that suicide prevention is something we should all play a part in, and that starting a conversation can be an important step towards offering support and preventing suicide.
Our awareness walk was more than just a physical activity. It was an opportunity to bring people together, engage with the community, and share a simple but important message:
Every life matters.
With placards carrying messages of hope and support, participants walked together to encourage conversations about suicide prevention and remind others that no one should have to face difficult moments alone.

Suicide can be difficult to talk about. Fear, stigma, misconceptions, and discomfort can make it challenging for people to speak about what they are experiencing or for others to know how to respond.
By bringing these conversations into our communities, we hope to create spaces where people feel more comfortable talking about their mental health, asking for help, and supporting others.

Suicide prevention requires ongoing awareness, compassion, connection, and access to appropriate support. Sometimes, taking action can begin with something as simple as checking in on someone, listening without judgment, or encouraging someone who is struggling to seek professional help.
At ONLYhealing Wellness, we believe that mental health is everyone’s concern. We remain committed to promoting mental health education, reducing stigma, and creating opportunities for people to have honest conversations about their mental and emotional well-being.

World Suicide Prevention Day reminds us that changing the narrative starts with each of us.
Thank you to everyone who walked with us, supported the campaign, volunteered, and helped us spread the message of hope.
A special thank you to our sponsors and partners, Bouge Club, EngracedLife Foundation, Jazmyne Water, and Artful Media. Your support of our mission and this campaign means so much to us at ONLYhealing Wellness.

The walk may be over, but the conversation continues.
